Stop 1: The Marble Mountains
The Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son) are five limestone and marble hills named after the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Water Mountain (Thuy Son) is the largest and most visited. Climbing its stone steps, you pass grottoes and caves with Buddhist shrines. Huyen Khong Cave is the highlight, a huge chamber where beams of sunlight fall through openings in the ceiling. From the top, enjoy views over the coastline and Da Nang, and visit the peaceful Linh Ung Pagoda.
At the foot of the mountains, a stone-carving village is full of workshops where artisans carve statues and jewellery from marble, a good place for souvenirs.
Stop 2: Lunch with a Local Family
At noon, enjoy a home-cooked Vietnamese lunch with a local family, a chance to taste authentic food and experience local hospitality.
Stop 3: My Son Sanctuary
Hidden in a green valley surrounded by mountains, My Son was the religious and political centre of the Champa Kingdom, which flourished from the 4th to the 13th century. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage site with red-brick Hindu temples dedicated to the god Shiva, decorated with detailed carvings. Group B is among the oldest and best preserved, while Group C shows a mix of styles from different periods. Despite centuries of weather and war, the site keeps a powerful sense of mystery.

While at My Son, you watch a traditional Cham dance with colourful costumes and rhythmic music, a glimpse of a culture that has lived in this region for centuries.
Sunset Boat Ride Back to Hoi An
At 5 PM you leave My Son for a short drive to the ferry dock, then cruise back to Hoi An on the river as the sun sets over the countryside. You are dropped off at your accommodation at the end of the day.

- Protect yourself from the sun. My Son has little shade; a hat, sunscreen and water make a big difference.
