What Is Teh Dar?
“Teh Dar” means “going in circles” in the K’ho language, a symbol of the cycles of life, nature and tradition. The show follows the rituals and daily life of Vietnam’s highland communities through acrobatics, balancing acts, aerial work and dance. The stage becomes a highland village with stilt houses and greenery, and the lighting shifts with each scene to show the time of day and the mood of the performers.
The people behind the show
Teh Dar is produced by Lune Production, known for celebrating Vietnamese heritage through modern performing arts. It is directed by Tuan Le, with music by Nguyen Nhat Ly, whose score uses gongs, bamboo flutes and drums played live on stage.
