Duy, founder and lead artist
The class is led by Duy, the young founder of Woodart Vietnam. His family has worked in wood art for generations, and his father, Mr. Thu Tran, is regarded as one of Vietnam’s most respected wood sculptors. Duy’s path was not easy: in the village carving class he was once called the worst student, and he left for the University of Art in Hue before realising that his heart belonged to the family workshop. He came home to continue the tradition, and today he and his team share their work with a large following on YouTube and social media.
